Pregnancy MOT

What is a Pregnancy MOT?

Experiencing aches and pains during pregnancy is common. Pelvic girdle pain is the name given to pain or stiffness around the pelvis and during pregnancy it can affect 1 in 5 women. Fortunately it often can settle down well with some manual therapy, exercise prescription and advice.

Some women in pregnancy may also purely just wish to have a postural and alignment check, advice on how to keep strong during pregnancy and guidance on what to expect in the early stages postnatal in order to be proactive in preventing any issues.

What will your appointment include?

  • On booking, you will be sent some online pre-screen forms to complete prior to your appointment (ideally at least 48h before)

  • Discussion of your current concerns during pregnancy and any pre-existing conditions

  • 1 hour assessment including a postural check, review of movement and function and lifestyle review

  • Hands on treatment (where appropriate)

  • Tailored exercise focused on easing any aches and pains you may be experiencing and suggestions on improving functional movement and strength.

  • Education on birth preparation and the fourth trimester.
